what is the best way to start your day

People who want to be more successful want to know what is the best way to start your day.  Simple: wake up early.  Early can be relative but I’m talking about earlier than everyone  else.  If you are not a morning person, you need to train your mind and body to wake up before 6am.  You can train yourself by setting your alarm earlier and earlier.  Mel Robbins talks about the 5 sec rule.  Don’t keep hitting snooze, count backwards 5-4-3-2-1 and jump out of bed.  Don’t linger around in your comfy bed, it will be that much harder to jump out of bed the next time your alarm rings for the 2nd time.

Use this extra time in the morning to get a head start on your day.  This is quiet time you need to use to accomplish tasks that get you closer to your goal.  I find when I wake up in the morning, I am the most creative.  I like to spend the early morning hours blogging or reading.  It fuels my brain and gives me energy.  The coffee helps too!

Enjoy the peace around you.  Soon you will be hustling kids to school, fighting major traffic jams, dealing with all kinds of issues at work.  You deserve this time just for you.  I only wish I had more of it.  The mornings and the weekends I find extremely valuable for things I want to accomplish for myself.  The better part of the day seems to be for everyone else around me.

My challenge to you is to take the remaining days of this week and wake up an additional 45 minutes before your regular time.  Do things you normally can’t get to because of your hectic days.  Do things for you.  If you don’t find it useful, you can go back to your normal ways.  I have a feeling something will ignite in you and using this time in the morning will make you a more productive person.

Rise and Shine!

How do You Get a Fresh Start to The Week

I hope your weekend was so productive that you were excited to keep it rolling this Monday.  What’s not to be excited about?  Look at Mondays as a fresh start every week.  Plus, how often do you get to see a Solar Eclipse?

In a previous post I talked about celebrating all your victories.  Make sure you look at this past week and acknowledge everything you accomplished, big and small.  This will be your personal pat on your back.  Working hard takes a lot of dedication and can get a bit lonely.  People around you might not understand what you are trying to accomplish.  Just believe in yourself and you will get through it.

Have your week planned out.  What do you need to accomplish in order to keep you on the right track?  Plan for some interruptions but don’t allow interruptions to take you off course.

I told you this was going to be hard.  If you took my challenge and worked this weekend, you might be feeling a bit tired.  Tired is okay.  Tired is nothing a cup of coffee can’t solve.  Once you get started this morning, you will feel energized again.

Stay focused and enjoy the journey.  The journey is part of the fun.  You will look back on this time and be amazed with what you put yourself through and what you were able to take on.  You are learning a tremendous amount about life and yourself.

If you haven’t taken the first step, today is the day.  If you have already taken action, you are well on your way to success.  Each day is about progress.  Know exactly what you want to get accomplished this Monday so when you lay your head on the pillow tonight, you can be proud of your accomplishments.

Enjoy the Solar Eclipse and all the blessings it will bring to you.

How to Take Action by Taking The First Step Forward

Today, I want you to make the decision to get control and take “Action”  To accomplish your goals and truly be successful, you have to do something about it.  No one else is going to do it for you.  Many of us sit around wish, pray, and hope for something amazing to occur but it never does.  Does it?  We think how great it would be if…  If I had millions of dollars in the bank, if I had the freedom to travel the world, if I were the CEO of the company, if I started the non-profit that I know would make a differnce, if I accomplished the goals I set out for myself; but we are not willing to take that first step.

The reality is there is such a small percentage of us that will actually do something about it and take action.  Are you one of them?  You have big dreams but you are not willing to do what it takes.  You are paralyzed by the thought of taking a step forward.  You don’t know where to start so you make a decision not to start.  You have just made your goal beyond reach.

If you just take that first step, you can accomplish remarkable things.  Take action today.  Don’t wait until tomorrow or when the time is right.

Start right now!  Just one first step and move forward.  No matter how small the step is, just take it!
